Golf Solitaire clears tableau cards by playing one rank higher or lower than the waste pile. On SolitaireHot, flexible Ace–King linking (where enabled) makes chain planning matter more than grabbing every easy clear.
Compare both rank directions
When a 6 and an 8 both sit on a 7 waste card, ask which option opens a new top card or preserves a bidirectional Ace–King link for later.
Do not always take the easiest card
Clearing the most obvious card first can strand the waste on a dead rank. Prefer moves that keep at least two follow-ups available when you can.
Golf checklist
- Scan for buried cards that become tops after a clear.
- Avoid drawing from stock while playable tableau cards remain.
- Use Undo to test chain length on daily Golf seeds.
- Try TriPeaks next if you like adjacency with peak geometry.
